The evolution of North Central Excavation LLC
John Elavsky, a lifelong resident of north central Minnesota, grew up on a family farm and in a family excavating business, developing an early connection to hard work and construction. He earned a degree in Construction Management from Bemidji State University and went on to work as a field engineer in industrial construction, along with a brief period in the North Dakota oil fields. Northern Minnesota has always been home, and when the opportunity arose to work locally for the Minnesota Department of Transportation, his career in road maintenance began. Around the same time, he purchased an older Caterpillar road grader and began taking on independent work during his spare time. More than 15 years later, those early efforts have grown into the foundation of North Central Excavation LLC
